About Bliss Yoga Alaska: Welcome to Bliss Yoga Alaska with Kate Gibbs, RYT 200. At Bliss Yoga Alaska we are all about loving adventure and playing in nature. This is where we strive to offer the sort of yoga that creates space where everyone can feel welcome. Bliss Yoga Alaska classes are tailored to the student. All classes are alignment-based hatha yoga with some Anusara influence, vinyasa flow elements, and a little Iyengar style sprinkled in. Expect creative sun salutations, modifications, props, and deep attention to the breath.
Community is key for Bliss Yoga Alaska. Here we strongly believe that yoga should be available to everyone which is why Kate and fellow teachers offer free and donation based community classes, acro jams, and teacher support groups. Bliss Yoga Alaska’s intention is to continually invest in the world around us and hold space for those who need it.
Class days and times change seasonally. Currently, Kate offers public classes on Sundays, as well as private group classes on Mondays. Kate is available Friday and Monday mornings for private instruction. Prices vary.
Class Descriptions: At Bliss Yoga Alaska our classes focus on proper foundation and alignment while refreshing the mind and restoring even energy to the body. Most classes are appropriate for students of all skill levels; building strength and stamina through core work and moderate holds. Classes that are specific to a certain skill level or background, like acroyoga, will be noted. The majority of our classes utilize some variation of sun salutations and mellow vinyasa-style flows to warm the body before moving into deeper postures. Themes rotate every 4-6 weeks, using the time to gradually work into a peak pose or movement skill. Props and modifications are offered to make all poses more accessible. Breath work, meditation, and chanting may be included. Come to class and find your bliss!

About Kate: Bliss Yoga Alaska owner and primary teacher, Kate, has a mind toward community development, a heart toward helping, a determination to live a life of purpose and exploration, and passion for sharing those joys through yoga. Kate exudes a deep passion for yoga and an exuberant addiction to the outdoors. Kate teaches students to balance their strength with an attitude of surrender in order to open to the beauty of experience. If you join her for class you are sure to enjoy the zen-like atmosphere Kate creates with her mellow style as you relax and find your bliss! With over 500 hrs of training (including two 200hr teacher trainings) Kate has the skill to teach classes to a wide range of students of varying ages, physical, and mental abilities. She specializes in teaching adaptive yoga for adults with cognitive impairment as well as introductory acroyoga classes. Kate’s rich anatomy background serves her students well as each class focus on proper alignment and technique. “Yoga” means “union” and Kate believes in yoga as a way to bring community together in a loving, mindful, and authentic way.
Eldon Prater uses humor and impenetrable optimism to create a learning experience that is completely relaxed and full of joyful fun. Eldon completed his alignment based 200hr teacher training with Karen and Bruce Greenwood in 2016. Eldon utilizes proper form and foundational skills in the acroyoga classes he co-teaches with his wife, Kate. Besides yoga, Eldon is intrigued by multiple movement modalities including parkor, rock climbing, and break dancing. Expect to be surprised and delighted by Eldon’s unique style.
Private Instruction: Private classes can be scheduled with Kate on Monday or Friday mornings. These appointments are based on availability and are held at the Anjali Yoga Room on Main Street in Wasilla. Private instruction can be arranged via email (email@example.com) or using the form below.
